Description

Job Summary:

Completes diagnostics, repairs and rebuilds on engine products in a service workshop under limited supervision.

We are looking for a talented Diesel/EV Technician/Mechanic to join our Distribution business in (Kapolei, HI).

The hours for this role are during day shift between 7:00 am and 5:00 pm, Monday to Friday. Hours and schedule can change depending on business needs. 

The work location for this role is regularly in the Shop but may be requested to go work in the Field or at a Customer location based on business or customer needs. 

The person in this role will be required to drive a Cummins Service Truck whenever dispatched to do Field work or a Customer location. 

The experience and skills for this role are Engine but this role will also be required to work on other Technologies like EV and PG, the person in this role will receive training for these technologies. 

Will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
  • Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
  • Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
  • Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
  • Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
  • Maintain own tools


Responsibilities

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

  • Completes complex internal engine repairs
  • Performs engine overhauls unassisted 
  • Detailed understanding of the aftertreatment system and components
  • Proficient experience with engine diagnostic software
     


Qualifications

DOT
-    A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
-    Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older


-    A current valid license is required for this role
-    This role requires a 5 year motor vehicle report, free from major violations
-    This role requires applicant to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical
-    3 years driving experience
-    This role is subject to Department of Transportation (DOT) driving regulations including Hours of Service and Electronic Log Booking Device use
-Federal law requires operators of commercial vehicles to be 21 years of age or older, applicant must be 21 years of age


-    This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.


Education, Licenses, Certifications: 
Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)
Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution
Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)
This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. 

Experience: 
Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products
