MInit Charger has developed cutting edge off road EV charging ecosystem. ; We are seeking a Electrical Systems Design engineer to develop our next generation, DC, fast EV charger.

A successful candidate will be highly analytical, resourceful, customer-focused, team oriented, and will have an ability to work independently under time constraints to meet deadlines. This means you are not only able to develop and drive high-visibility strategic initiatives, but can also roll up your sleeves and get the job done. ;

  • Define product requirements and specifications for EVCS (design, performance, safety, local permitting needs, load management strategies etc.)
  • Understand the key aspects of EVCS technologies in the areas of design (scalability, robustness, performance), operations (efficiency, usability, reliability), costs (capital and operations), predictive and preventative maintenance, security issues and safety risks, identify gaps and propose areas of improvement
  • Lead partnerships with internal/external EV design teams and EV OEMs to ensure EVCS - EV compatibility and deployment configurations (hardware, software, physical and thermal design) are established
  • Ensure design is compliant to applicable regulatory standards such as UL, CE etc.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BSEE or MSEE from an accredited university, or a related scientific field.
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering in the areas of power systems, electrical design using components typically used in EV chargers, power electronics and control systems.
  • Experience with developing high-availability EVCS and BESS design/architectures, large-scale power systems, electric, mobility/transportation, or mission-critical industrial systems, that exceed industry design trends.
  • Documentation on technical requirements for new and innovative power management solutions.
  • Thorough understanding of systems design, controls and communication systems, and thermal management ;
  • Strong experience in odes and regulations including UL, IEC, Life Safety, IBC, NFPA, ;
  • Ability to carry new design concepts through exploration, development, and into prototyping/manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment in an organized manner, and willing to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done
