Description

The EV Technician will be responsible for diagnosing, servicing, repairing, and maintaining electric and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in accordance with manufacturer standards and company procedures. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in electric vehicle systems, advanced diagnostic skills, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous learning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair electric and ICE vehicle systems using specialized diagnostic equipment, manufacturer guidelines, and technical documentation.
  • Perform maintenance, servicing, and repair work on electric vehicles to the highest quality standards.
  • Repair and replace vehicle components using approved tools and procedures in line with XPENG guidelines and company SOPs.
  • Conduct detailed vehicle inspections and identify additional repair requirements beyond the original job card scope.
  • Prepare accurate warranty reports, repair documentation, and cost estimates for parts replacement and repair work.
  • Communicate effectively with Parts Advisors, Team Leaders, Master Technicians, and Workshop Controllers to ensure timely parts availability and efficient workflow.
  • Determine repair requirements and provide updates regarding work progress and vehicle condition.
  • Assist and support fellow technicians when technical challenges arise.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment, including proper management of tools and workshop equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, high-voltage (HV) safety procedures, and health and safety regulations.
  • Record all work accurately through the workshop management system and maintain clear repair documentation.
  • Continuously update technical knowledge through manufacturer training programs and industry developments.
  • Report technical concerns and safety-related issues to the Team Leader promptly.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certified Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Technician from MG, XPENG, or another recognized automotive manufacturer.
  • Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Technical Training Certification is required.
  • High-voltage vehicle safety certification is an advantage.
  • Minimum 6 years of relevant automotive service experience.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience as an Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician.
  • Experience working with electric, hybrid, and advanced automotive technologies.
  • Experience within an authorized dealership environment is highly preferred.
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for EV and ICE vehicles.
  • Knowledge of high-voltage systems, battery technology, and vehicle electronics.
  • Familiarity with manufacturer diagnostic software and workshop management systems.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic language skills are an advantage.
  • Valid UAE driving license is preferred.
