KEY RESULTS/ACCOUNTABILITIES EXPECTED FROM THE ROLE:
- The Electric Vehicle (EV) Technician diagnose, service and repair
high voltage Electric Vehicles (EV) and commercial charging stations.
- Must have extensive & expert knowledge of how lithium-ion batteries
and automotive systems interact.
- Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and service electrical charging
infrastructure using skills and tools that range from computer diagnostics to
basic electrical tools.
- Understanding of EV systems including e-machines; Inverters; Batteries;
Battery management systems; DC Vehicle Charging etc.
- Perform required preventative maintenance activities on vehicles systems
and carry out workshop tests on engine drive, battery pack and BMS,
communication systems and embedded systems.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND CHARACTERISTICS:
- At least 2 years' technical experience of working on Full Electric
Vehicles, especially working with hazardous voltage drive and battery systems.
- Must be qualified to work on electrical systems, which could include
dealer service training or independent training provider or accredited course.
- IVQ/NVQ Level 3 Motor Vehicle Maintenance or
equivalent qualification to work on hazardous voltage electric vehicle systems.
