Overview






Expert trouble shooter and equipment repair person for all types of plant/production electrical and mechanical equipment.  This level of work requires education and experience with all types of electrical and mechanical service skills.  Teaches and/or advises others about how or what to do to make repairs.  Work from complicated drawings and specifications.  Use a variety of precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements.  Must have experience programming robotic welders, PLCs and other forms of industrial automation.









Responsibilities






  • Diagnoses mechanical and electrical problems and makes necessary repairs.

 

  • Repairs or upgrades equipment for improved operations.

 

  • Assists others to insure equipment is properly maintained.

 

  • Lubricates and cleans parts.

 

  • Start devices to test their performance.

 

  • Initiates purchase order for parts and machines.

 

  • Reads blueprints.

 

  • Other duties as assigned.








Qualifications






Apprenticeship, Associate Degree, or equivalent training, plus three to five years’ experience is required; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to sit and talk or hear.  The team member frequently is required to use hands to handle or feel.  The team member is occasionally required to stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms.  The team member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The team member will occasionally be required to operate a forklift and/or scissor lift and must, therefore, be required to pass a competency test to do so. The team member will often be required to work with live high voltage (480 VAC) circuits that will require the use of arc flash protection PPE.
