Engineering Department is seeking an experienced Implementation Engineer to support the launch of next-generation EV battery manufacturing equipment. This is a highly visible project engineering role focused on equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, production trials, and new model launches
This position is ideal for engineers with experience launching manufacturing equipment in battery, electronics, semiconductor, chemical processing, or other highly automated manufacturing environments.,
Responsibilities
- Lead procurement, installation, validation, commissioning, and launch of new battery manufacturing equipment.
- Manage capital equipment projects from planning through production startup.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and KPI reporting.
- Create manufacturing process plans and machine specifications using Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Review engineering drawings and provide design feedback for:
- Mechanical systems
- Electrical systems
- Civil/Facility infrastructure
- Coordinate with equipment suppliers, contractors, construction teams, and international engineering groups.
- Support installation activities, identify field issues, and drive countermeasures to keep projects on schedule.
- Plan and coordinate machine validation, pre-production trials, and production launch activities.
- Promote Toyota's safety-first culture throughout all phases of the project.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to technical standards and work instructions.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical field

5+ years of engineering experience

3+ yearssupporting manufacturing equipment implementation in one of the following:
- Battery Manufacturing
- Electronics Manufacturing
- Chemical Processing
- Semiconductor Manufacturing
- Experience with:
- Equipment procurement
- Installation
- Validation
- Production trials
- Manufacturing launches
- Capital project management experience including:
- Scheduling
- Budget management
- Progress reporting
- Intermediate or advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Ability to travel up to 25%
- Ability to support weekend work and plant shutdowns when required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with battery manufacturing processes
- Lean Manufacturing
- AutoCAD, CATIA, Creo, or similar CAD software
- Ability to read and modify 2D & 3D engineering drawings
- Experience leading equipment performance trials
- Knowledge of:
- Slot die coating
- Roll-to-roll processing
- Laser cutting equipment
- Vision inspection systems
- Industrial controls experience
- PLC troubleshooting or programming (Mitsubishi or Omron preferred)
- MES systems experience
- Previous Toyota Production Engineering experience
- Master's Degree in Engineering
- Japanese language skills
