VEHICLE DYNAMICS ENGINEER

About this role:

As a development engineer in RFK’s set up development group, you will work within a group of 5-7 engineers tasked with weekly pre-event model & tool development. This work includes, but is not limited to, assignments in following areas:

  • Vehicle dynamic simulation tool development & correlation.
  • Attending & managing driver-in-the-loop simulator sessions.
  • Attend track tests.
  • Attend rig tests (8-Post, K-Rig).
  • Maintenance of simulation input files.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly pre-event performance analysis.
  • Prepare and distribute weekly pre-event documentation.
  • Develop methods & standards to analyze tire force & moment data.
  • Dive digital and documented culture.
  • Assist teams with strategy during race weekends in RFK’s ‘War Room’.

This position is onsite, located at our headquarters in Concord, NC with a typical work schedule from Monday through Friday, including limited domestic travel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Operations Research, Engineering, Economics, Data Science or, another quantitative field
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience utilizing vehicle dynamics simulation tools (MSC.ADAMS, Modelica/Dymola, CarSim, IPG CarMaker)
  • Programming experience with one or more of the following languages: C, C#, VB.Net, MATLAB, Python.
  • OEM/Automotive/Racing industry experience a plus
